INFO

Kai Blakley (b. 1989) is an American documentary photographer working in Northwest Indiana. His work focuses on small, tactile observations of everyday life—chain-link fences, storefront windows, sidewalks, parking lots, and fleeting moments between people.

Blakley works primarily in high-contrast black and white, simple white sketches overlayed onto image, and often using ultra-wide lenses that bend familiar spaces into slightly disorienting perspectives.

Alongside image making, he publishes field notes to substack that expand on the ideas behind the work. Blakley holds an MFA in Documentary Media from Northwestern University and has over a decade of professional experience behind the camera.

The photographs presented here form part of a living, ongoing archive.
